Accident #2 (And Other Misfortunes)

Signs, signs; everywhere there’s signs. Fucking up the scenery breaking my mind…

Well guess what happened to me at the beginning of another shit day on my way to my shit job? My poor car takes another pounding:

The scoop: Some idiot in the exit only lane made the last minute decision not to exit and swerved in front of me instead of just exiting and getting back on about a mile or so down the access  road. I had to slam on my brakes to not hit this person as the left lane was occupied by another vehicle. The person behind me did not see me in time to brake and I got rear-ended in the process.

This is the 2nd time my car has taken a beating in the about 6 months I’ve lived in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex. Granted, one time was in a parking lot but damn people drive like maniacs around here. I knew it was bound to happen eventually (and I ain’t no granny driver either – I consistently do about 5-10 over out of sheer necessity because I’d have gotten rear-ended multiple times if I had gone the speed limit).

All I have to say though, 2 accidents in six months combined with other gross misfortunes that have befallen me since I lived here some cosmic force must be telling me to get the fuck out of this place and go home. Never, and I mean NEVER did I have such shitty luck living in Abilene.

Of course, if I go home there goes my job but damn, I think the signs are pretty clear. DFW(TF) is not the place for me. The only upside: I’m not injured in any way and the car should be fixable (only 3 years old and 46K miles on it).

Bleh. This sucks.

  1. I’m glad you’re okay! I guess learning to drive and spending my life fighting on the freeways of Southern California has taught me how to be a good driver. Or at least how to avoid most of the idiots!
I hope the rest of your day is better!
